Welcome to my daylily garden! I have a small (1/3 acre), primarily non-commercial, private garden located in Roswell, Georgia, just north of Atlanta. I sell a few plants each year but I am primarily a hybridizer and sell most of my crop of seeds each year on The Lily Auction (as aladyreb) usually beginning in late August through mid-November and February through mid- April of the following spring. I have begun my 5th year selling seeds on The Lily Auction and would like to thank my very loyal customers for my best selling season ever.
I have continued to upgrade the cultivars I use for hybridizing and I was very pleased with most of the additions for the 2007 season. (See the commentaries for each cultivar in my Daylily Albums section for individual reviews). I made the decision to discontinue working with minis and doubles so that I may
concentrate more fully on my first love - big, fat, luscious bagels! As you browse the albums, you will see quite a few new additions and a few more will be added in the spring as bonuses come in with my spring orders. I have added a number of exceptionally nice dormants to my program in response to demand from my customers around the world for more hardy crosses. I have also added more toothed varieties as I have found those that are able meet my requirements for workable form and good plant habit. Spring 2008 should be really exciting!
The 2007 bloom season was a very strange one here (and most places east from what I have heard). We had late frosts in March and we had a 4-day period in April with temperatures of in the range of 16 degrees at night that set record lows. You have never seen so many short scapes and pathetic bud counts as there were on the first sets of scapes this season. The second sets of scapes were normal but by that time, it was so hot that many cultivars did not set pods well even under shadecloth resulting in a much smaller seed crop this year. However, my increase has never been so good nor have my plants ever looked better. This I attribute mostly to my revised fertilization program and the installation of a new irrigation system.
I ship plants to US addresses and Germany under certain conditions. I ship seeds to any country not requiring a phytosanitary certificate for hemerocallis fulva seed importation, which includes the US, Canada,  EU members, NEW ZEALAND and AUSTRALIA.
