Benz '02, Dor-M, 24", 4 1/2" red and rose blend with frilly, dripping gold and white edges. Plants are small, take time to establish and increase slowly so is more of a hybridizer's tool than a commercial cultivar. However, it is a wonderful parent according to John Benz - an improved Startle with lovely form and a dominant edge it imparts to its kids and should be useful to cross into reds, purples and pinks. Unfortunately, we don't have enough freezing weather to make this one happy. It must have an extended freeze to thrive. So I sent one tiny fan back up north to a friend and kept one teeny one here that I have potted and after we have our first freeze, I am putting it, pot and all, in my freezer for a couple of weeks. We'll see what happens.
