Benz '02, Dor-M, 24", 4 1/2" red and rose blend with frilly, dripping gold and white edges. Plants are small, take time to establish and increase slowly so is more of a hybridizer's tool than a commercial cultivar. However, it is a wonderful parent according to John Benz - an improved Startle with lovely form and a dominant edge it imparts to its kids and should be useful to cross into reds, purples and pinks. Unfortunately, we don't have enough freezing weather to make this one happy. It must have an extended freeze to thrive. So I sent one tiny fan back up north to a friend and kept one teeny one which is actually doing pretty well after what was, for us, a very hard winter here. Fertile both ways.
