Carpenter '04, tet, Ev-EM, re, 23", 3 way branching with a bud count of 15: 6" apricot pink blend with very extravagantly ruffled gold edge. I hesitated to do add this for several reasons. First the bud count is totally unacceptable. Secondly, it has a short scape - 23" is a very generous registration height. I saw it in two gardens last year and thought it was the prettiest daylily I had ever seen but it was blooming down in the foliage. So I once again passed on it. Then Larry Grace gave his slide show at a local club meeting and he had some awesome pictures of some kids from Evelyn. I asked him about scape height on the kids and he said just not to cross Evelyn with things having short scapes. So I broke down and added this one. I really have wanted to add Tet Magical Melody genes to my program but haven't really found any offspring that have good branching and bud counts from it directly so guess it is something I will just have to work on in my program, being very careful with what I cross Evelyn with. Fertile both ways.
