Carpenter '04, tet, Ev-EM, re, 24", bud count of 35; 5 1/4" cream with deep rose eye and tightly pleated and ruffled rose edge with very heavy substance. This cultivar has figured heavily in my hybridizing program the past three years amd I have some beautiful seedlings for my efforts. I consider it one of the best eyed and edged cultivars available on the market. Very strong rebloom. Fertile both ways and a terrific parent. This one passes on its heavy substance and tightlly pleated edge and is easily capable of producing double or even triple edges. I plan to use it this year with my complex eyed cultivars and with T. LAVENDER BLUE BABY (parent of UNENDING MELODY) in the background, I'll also cross it into the Lambertson "blues" in hopes of improving their form and substance. Photo taken in my garden 6/04.
