Brooker '02, tet, SEv-M, re, 4 way branching with a bud count of 20; 6" pink self with gold edge that is producing some great kids which is why I added it to my collection even though it didn't really meet my standards as far as plant habit was concerned. I was impressed with Belle the first year - lovely, consistent bloom and very good vigor and growth. However, after a winter and spring here, its vigor and performance has gone downhill. It seems to resent cold temperatures and our radically uneven Spring and Fall temperatures. After 2 winters here, it barely survives which is pretty much what its parent Ed Brown did when I grew it. So Belle will be finding a new home in the near future. Fertile both ways. Photo taken in my garden 6/06.
